Summer Courses

Q1. Can students of our school apply for summer school in a foreign school?
A. Students who meet one of the following conditions may apply in accordance with the administrative procedures of the school's summer program, but only if the school's summer course is not available:
1. Fresh graduates can graduate after completing the summer course.
2. The situation is special, and those who cannot take the summer course cannot continue their studies.

Q2. Will the credits obtained from summer school off-campus be recognized?
A. You must submit an application to the off-campus summer school through the administrative process according to the school's summer school regulations. As for the recognition of credits, the director of the department will determine whether it is an English or general course. It must be approved by the foreign language department or general education center.

Q3. How to calculate the results of summer school?
A. The summer grades are based on the scores filled out by the teacher. There is no discount; however, their scores are not included in the average score for the current semester, and they are included in the graduation average score upon graduation.

Q4. What are the sources of summer classes?
A. Source 1. Department of summer training proposed by the Department.
   Source 2. After the fresh graduates have to retake or make-up, they can graduate in the current semester, and they must fill in the application form within the prescribed period to apply for the subjects applied to the Academic Affairs Division's Curriculum Section through the administrative process.

Q5. Can Those who cannot register or forget to register during summer school registration apply for summer school?
A. Online registration is only available to students of this school. The purpose is to investigate the demand of the course as an important reference for the beginning or not. If you haven't registered for some reason, but the course started at the time of registration, except for those who have passed or been credited, others can sign up for the summer course with the consent of the department head.

Q6. What are the restrictions on summer school starters?
A. Summer class starters are based on the principle of 20 or more students, and less than the starter class or unable to hire a suitable teacher to teach the class. However, those who have not reached the start level and are required to start the class in the following circumstances, can only start the course after the student agrees to make up for at least 16 people to pay the credits.
1. Fresh graduates who can complete the summer course can graduate, and only 5 people can start the class.
2. Graduates who have graduated from their studies for non-summer courses are required to withdraw from their studies, and are not restricted by the starters.
3. In special circumstances, those approved by the dean of the department (institute, degree program) shall not be restricted by the starter.

Q7. Are there deferent stages in the summer courses? What are the online registration time and class time?
A. There is only one stager for the summer courses of the school. The courses for the first and second semesters are held at the same time. The online registration period is about the end of June. Classes last from about July to early September for a total of 9 weeks.

Q8. Can Non NCKU students take summer courses in our school?
A. The courses announced by the school each summer are optional, except for the subjects enrolled by NON NCKU students. However, you must first obtain the written consent of the undertaking unit of the school's Academic Affairs Office before you can register online and pay during the registration period.

Q9. When Non NCKU students apply for the summer school of the school, what should they do when the school’s seal of approval is required?
A. Non NCKU students who have completed the summer school registration and payment of their fees can take the summer school consent form to the school's Academic Affairs Office's school affairs office within one week of starting the class (Kuang-Fu Campus Yun-ping Administration Bldg.2F). It is not necessary to send the application form to NCKU in advance, and it is not required to be signed or stamped by the cashier group of NCKU.
